About Sheikh Suleiman Anwar
Sheikh Suleiman Anwar is a trained imam who has taught Islamic creed (theology), jurisprudence, and Islamic manners and conduct for over 25 years. He has held several imam positions and lectured extensively in the US, Canada, and the UK. He also has extensive experience in marriage, family and youth counseling, as well as mediation. He has held the position of Islamic Chaplain in the Maryland Division of Corrections, and he the author of two books:
- The Concise Fiqh of Purification, Prayer & Fasting, Adly Publications, 2017.
- The Fiqh Of Trade: Obligatory Knowledge For Merchants, Adly Publications, 2017
Sheikh Suleiman has the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in the fundamentals of the Islamic faith (theology) from Al-Azhar University in Egypt. He holds a master’s degree in Islamic Jurisprudence and Law from Sanaa University in Yemen. He also holds a master’s degree in comparative Islamic jurisprudence (comparative schools of thought) from the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan, as well as a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Manchester, in the UK.
Sheikh Suleiman has lived in the US since the age of 10. He is fluent in English (native-speaker), as well as Arabic, Italian, French and Spanish. He is frequently invited to speak at Islamic centers/organizations and educational organizations in the US, Canada, and the UK.
